Designed to help adults prepare for success with writing the High School equivalency test modules. Intro to High School equivalency and Online Tools offers a positive introduction to help you learn about the High School equivalency test modules, manage your learning, develop study habits, use interactive learning tools, navigate online learning systems, develop a learning  plan  to help you reach your goal.   Canada has a new high school equivalency model, the Canadian Adult Education Credential (CAEC), that came into effect Spring of 2024.    Don't miss out on transferring your GED credits, which are transferrable until 2027.

​Essential Digital Skills     Program Info
CALA’s Essential Digital Skills classes offer a dynamic and supportive way to build confidence, explore your potential, and take charge of your learning journey. You will  learn how to use a computer and common devices ,  filling out online forms,  send and receive emails, as well as  how to spot scams and suspicious messages.   This program will provide you with practical tools for today’s world and will empower you to move forward with confidence.​

Community Essentials    Program Info
The Community Essentials Program helps adults develop essential skills for work and life in their community. Participants will engage in a positive and friendly accessible learning space to develop many essential skills including literacy skills (reading, writing), numeracy skills, using digital technology, communication skills and working with others, in addition to other essential skills such as problem solving and document use.

 Northstar Digital Literacy Assessments & Testing    View Brochure
Participants of CALA Digital Literacy Programs will build digital skills while using technology and can demonstrate their knowledge to potential employers by earning Northstar Digital Literacy certificates in the areas of:  

• Basic Computer Skills: Using Email, Windows
• Essential Software Skills: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Google Docs
• Social Media Technology:  Social Media, Information Literacy, Your Digital Footprint 

CALA is a registered proctor site for Northstar Digital Literacy. Successful test-takers receive a certificate verifying the basic skills needed to use a computer and the internet in daily life, employment, and higher education.

Building AI Confidence     Program Info
Curious about AI? Learn what it is, how people are using it every day, and how to use it safely and confidently. Try popular AI tools such as ChatGPT, protect your privacy, spot false information, and discover practical ways AI can help at home, work, and learning. Beginner-friendly with hands-on learning and discussion.
